Where the Chicken Comes From

Glacial Treasure is made with Ontario-raised chicken wherever possible. The birds are raised in this province, processed in our Toronto facility at 300 Milliken Blvd, and frozen the same day. We’re not importing chicken from another country, relabelling it, and calling it premium. Ontario chicken is what we know and what we’ve built this business on for over thirty years.

Generic store-brand frozen chicken can come from anywhere. The label often won’t tell you. Ours does.

What’s Not in It

Our core Glacial Treasure line is gluten-free, soy-free, and nitrite-free. The ingredient lists are short on purpose. Check the label on most store-brand frozen chicken and you’ll often find a list of additives, fillers, and preservatives that have nothing to do with chicken. Those ingredients exist to reduce manufacturing cost, not to improve the product.

Every Glacial Treasure product is made in our HACCP-certified facility — the same food safety standard required by Ontario’s top hospitals and restaurant chains. Our chicken is halal-certified. We’ve won the Top Choice Award two years in a row, voted by Ontario consumers.

The Family Behind the Brand

Generic store brands don’t have a story. Glacial Treasure does. Kostas and Anastasia Dikeos came to Canada from Greece and built D&D Poultry from nothing. Their four children now run it. Five grandchildren work in it.
